STEAM Education Meets Football

49ers EDU presented by Chevron leverages the game of football and Levi’s Stadium as a platform to expose students to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) concepts and careers. Using the lens of football and a state of the art facility at Levi’s Stadium helps us create excitement and engagement around these critical learning concepts. To date, the program has impacted more than 500,000 Bay Area youth.

Persevering Through Change

As the landscape of education continues to change, 49ers EDU presented by Chevron stayed true to its mission to inspire youth to engage in STEAM learning through the game of football. Since 2014, 49ers EDU has continued to provide consistent in-person, digital and virtual programming that is accessible, engaging and meets the needs of the current state of education.

49ERS EDU PRESENTED BY CHEVRON DIGITAL PLAYBOOK

The 49ers EDU Digital Playbook is an interactive virtual workbook that teaches students about the game of football through the lens of STEAM. This online format also allows teachers to download a flat PDF, creating further opportunities for use in digital or in-person classrooms.

49ERS EDU PRESENTED BY CHEVRON DIGITAL PLAYBOOK REVIEW

As additional support to teachers, the 49ers EDU team created short videos reviewing the subjects found in the pages of the Digital Playbook. These videos aim to bring the educational content to life and serve as asynchronous learning materials for teachers or for young 49ers Faithful to enjoy in their leisure time.

49ERS EDU PLAYBOOK PATROL

City Year AmeriCorps Members motivate students to come to school, ensuring they will reach the 10th grade on track and graduate high school ready for college and a career.

The 49ers Academy

Founded in 1996, the 49ers Academy empowers students (6th-12th grade) in East Palo Alto, a historically under-resourced community, to succeed in school and close the achievement gap. The 49ers Academy’s academic programs and needs-based services are integrated into the school day and provide a comprehensive community of support through a system of care management that addresses students' dynamic, holistic needs. The 49ers Academy aims to improve students’ skill levels and combat lowered academic stigma and expectations that students of color face while creating a climate of hope, excellence and opportunities needed to graduate from high school and positively contribute to their future world.
