49ERS FOUNDATION 2021 IMPACT REPORT

FAITHFUL TO THE BAY

For over 30 years, the 49ers Foundation has remained committed to our mission: Educate and Empower Bay Area Youth. We believe by focusing the team’s charitable efforts on the next generation, we are helping build a better Bay Area for generations to come. Our colors, red and gold, expand far beyond what we do on the field and represent both a passion for community impact and a standard of excellence in everything we do. Whether you are an avid fan or a casual observer, your belief in this team means more than wins and losses. The philanthropic work of the 49ers Foundation provides our fans the opportunity to help change the lives of those furthest from resources in their communities.

Since 1991, the 49ers Foundation has invested over $50 million back into the community to support youth and provide the tools they need to tackle what is possible. From its inception in 2014, 49ers EDU presented by Chevron, has leveraged the game of football and Levi’s® Stadium to introduce over 300,000 K-8 students in 21st century STEAM concepts and career paths. In 2009, we launched 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank to empower Bay Area youth to lead healthy lifestyles. Through an array of in-stadium and in-school programming, our staff works to engage youth through sport, physical activity, and character development that nurtures the growth of student-athletes beyond the playing field. To date, 49ers PREP has impacted the lives of over 130,000 K-12 students.

This past season, the 49ers celebrated 75 years of being Faithful to the Bay. We, the Foundation, stand beside our team. We stand beside them in our commitment to excellence. We stand beside them in our commitment to the Bay Area. And we stand beside them in our dedication to overcoming any obstacle that stands in the way of the next generation of the Faithful. As this year marks the 30th anniversary of the 49ers Foundation, we celebrate using the team's unique platform to build stronger, more inclusive communities. Over the next 30 years, we plan to double down on our commitment to deliver free access to play and educational resources for all Bay Area youth.

The 49ers Foundation is YOUR Foundation, and so we call to you, the Faithful, to join us in our continued commitment - improving the lives of the next generation and remaining faithful to our shared future.

OUR MISSION REMAINS

The 49ers Foundation harnesses football to educate and empower Bay Area youth through direct and beneficiary programs throughout Bay Area counties and beyond. From the award winning STEAM education programming of 49ers EDU presented by Chevron to the nationally recognized youth football, health and wellness programs developed by 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank, the 49ers Foundation supports both initiatives in their dedication to inspire the confidence and collaboration youth need to tackle what is possible.

By the Numbers

2021 was a year of digging in, persevering and getting it done. See the results of our adaptation & innovation in our “by the numbers” breakdown.

YOUR IMPACT

In 2021, despite ongoing challenges and changes presented by the pandemic, we recognized our job was to keep our heads in the fundraising game and “get it done.” As the team got back on the field and welcomed fans into Levis® Stadium, the 49ers Foundation geared up to offer experiences and opportunities to the Faithful via game day fundraisers and in-person events.

EDUCATE

When nearly every school in the country closed its doors with little to no notice, parents and teachers found themselves scrambling for resources. 49ers EDU presented by Chevron dug deep to transition an entirely “in-person” education immersion into an engaging digital world and, to this day, continues to deliver football inspired STEAM education for educators and students alike.

EMPOWER

While we couldn’t run live programming in 2020, our commitment to empowering students and coaches through movement and healthy lifestyle content did not waiver. Throughout the year 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank developed a series of digital resources that have garnered over 1.5 million impressions to date.

COMMUNITY

Using football as its platform, 49ers Community Relations strives to build stronger communities through partnerships with Bay Area nonprofit organizations forging the path for positive change. Through hands-on service, 49ers players, alumni, ownership, and staff volunteer their time to support and encourage underserved youth and families, those facing medical crises and mental health challenges, at-risk individuals and social justice efforts.

"Each of us comes from a different walk of life, but when we huddle up, we huddle up as a team. It doesn’t matter where we come from or your background. Let’s find a common ground for our shared values. Let’s celebrate and learn from our differences."

John Lynch, Hall of Fame Speech 2021
